Garage Door Spring Repair & Replacement
A broken spring is the most common — and most dangerous — garage door failure we see. The springs counterbalance the full weight of the door, so when one snaps the door becomes too heavy to lift safely and the opener can't budge it. We replace torsion and extension springs the right way, in pairs, same day on most calls.
Signs you need it
- The door won't open, or opens a few inches and stops
- You heard a loud bang from the garage (a spring snapping)
- A visible gap in the coiled spring above the door
- The door slams down fast or feels extremely heavy by hand
- The opener strains, hums, or reverses without lifting
What we do
- Torsion and extension spring replacement, sized to your door's weight and cycle rating
- Springs replaced in pairs (when one goes, the other is close behind)
- Cable, drum, and bearing inspection while the door is unloaded
- Opener force reset and full balance test before we leave
